Grandpa's Choice™ Duarte plum is a large, heart-shaped, deep red fruit with a sweet blood-red flesh that is excellent for fresh eating or canning. A vigorous and hardy tree. It ripens in mid-season ahead of Italian and Stanley. It is well adapted to western conditions.
Grandpa's Washington friends were always bragging up Duarte plum to him, and when he tried it he was impressed.
Duarte is a Japanese plum and requires cross-pollination with other Japanese plums.
